El Migjorn

1120 km (Low)

The route runs through the southern part of the island in an area known as Migjorn. The towns of Migjorn retain their valuable heritage; parish churches, cloisters, convents, mills and more.  The Sanctuary of Sant Salvador (509 m) offers exceptional views. Dry farm landscapes and the characteristic garrigue scrubland of Sa Marina of Llucmajor will accompany you the whole way. You could also turn towards the coast and stop in Cala d’Or, a touristic town with white houses, or in small ports with houses of the era, escars (dry docks) and llaüts (traditional boats). The route passes close to the natural parks of Mondragó and Es Trenc – Salobrar de Campos, both with spectacular beaches. In Salobrar you can find salt evaporation ponds, a unique natural feature. From this area of the coast, on clear days you can see the island of Cabrera National Park.
