Port of Palma: The Island’s Nautical Heart

This is the main port, connecting directly with key hubs on the mainland and neighbouring islands.

  • Mainland Connections: Regular crossings to Barcelona, Valencia, and Dénia (duration between 6 and 8 hours).
  • Inter-island Routes: Connections to Ibiza (2 to 4 hours) and Mahón, Menorca (approx. 5.5 hours).

Getting Around from the Port of Palma

The ferry terminal is located about 4 km from the historic centre. There are several options to reach the city:

  • Bus: Route 1 (connects the port with the city centre and the airport).
  • Paseo Marítimo: A pleasant 45-minute walk or a 15-minute cycle along the seaside bike lane.
  • Sightseeing Bus: Direct City Sightseeing stop at the terminal itself.
  • Taxis and Rentals: Official taxi rank and car rental offices located inside the terminal.

Port of Alcúdia: The Connection to the North and France

Located on the north coast in one of the island’s most beautiful bays, this port is strategic for those arriving from Menorca or Southern Europe.

  • Connection to Menorca: Daily departures to Ciutadella (between 1 and 4 hours depending on the vessel).
  • International Route: During high season, Alcúdia connects directly to Toulon (France) with a crossing of approximately 12 hours.
  • Surroundings: The port offers a wide range of leisure activities, restaurants, and an extensive [Fine-sand beach] just steps away from the terminal.
