Les dues elevacions del municipi el caracteritzen: el puig d\u2019Alar\u00f3 (825 m) \u2014tamb\u00e9 anomenat castell d\u2019Alar\u00f3\u2014 i el puig de s\u2019Alcadena (817 m). Destaca per tenir una <strong>gran hist\u00f2ria<\/strong> que es remunta a l\u2019\u00e8poca talai\u00f2tica. Per\u00f2 la fortalesa del <a href=\"https:\/\/visit.ajalaro.net\/es_ES\/castell\">castell <\/a>surt a la cr\u00f2nica del ge\u00f2graf i historiador al-Zuhri (s. XII) en qu\u00e8 descriu la resist\u00e8ncia dels bizantins al musulmans l\u2019any 903 i els denominava Hisn Alarum: \u00abels vells cristians del castell\u00bb.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alar\u00f3 \u00e9s <strong>poble <\/strong>de <strong>pioners<\/strong>, ja que a finals del segle XIX el municipi va comen\u00e7ar un proc\u00e9s d\u2019industrialitzaci\u00f3 i d\u2019innovaci\u00f3. \u00a0La gent d\u2019Alar\u00f3 va ser pionera del proc\u00e9s manufacturer, i s\u2019hi afegeix l\u2019esperit emprenedor, aquestes circumst\u00e0ncies els han dut a ser el primer poble de Mallorca amb llum el\u00e8ctrica, el que va muntar la primera sala de cinematografia de l\u2019illa i, m\u00e9s recentment, el precursor de les televisions locals.<\/p>\n<p>La seva proximitat a la <a href=\"https:\/\/serradetramuntana.net\/\">serra de Tramuntana<\/a> fa que molts d\u2019excursionistes i ciclistes tri\u00efn el poble d\u2019Alar\u00f3 per gaudir de la natura ja que s\u2019hi poden iniciar un <strong>gran nombre<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/visit.ajalaro.net\/es_ES\/passeja\">d\u2019excursions<\/a> i rutes ciclotur\u00edstiques.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Destaca, per exemple, la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mallorca.es\/ca\/-\/la-cala-de-de-1?classNameId=27801&amp;classPK=168161\">pujada al castell<\/a>, com una excursi\u00f3 de les m\u00e9s espectaculars d\u2019aquesta zona muntanyosa. Est\u00e0 integrada en els grup de <strong>camins<\/strong> de <strong>pedra en sec<\/strong> rehabilitats i senyalitzats del Consell de Mallorca, concretament \u00e9s la <a href=\"https:\/\/caminsdepedra.conselldemallorca.cat\/\">ruta GR-221<\/a>. Al cim trobam les murades de l\u2019antic fort\u00ed militar on destaca la <strong>torre de l\u2019homenatge<\/strong> o es Constipador que s\u2019ha de travessar per accedir a l\u2019interior de la fortificaci\u00f3. Traspassada la murada queden per salvar diverses voltes del cam\u00ed que condueixen a <strong>l\u2019oratori<\/strong> i l\u2019hostatgeria, que s\u00f3n en una esplanada \u00e0mplia, des d\u2019on es pot gaudir d\u2019una perspectiva panor\u00e0mica de tota Mallorca. La resta d\u2019edificacions estan dedicades a l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/caminsdepedra.conselldemallorca.cat\/-\/s-hostatgeria-del-castell-d-alaro\">hostatgeria<\/a>, i \u00e9s l\u2019\u00fanic <strong>castell roquer<\/strong> de Mallorca on es pot <strong>pernoctar<\/strong>. Est\u00e0 oberta tot l\u2019any i s\u2019hi ha fet una reforma integral que ha dotat tota la instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 amb calefacci\u00f3, una cafeteria i un restaurant; s\u2019hi poden allotjar fins a 30 persones.<\/p>\n<p>Alar\u00f3 es vesteix de <a href=\"https:\/\/visit.ajalaro.net\/es_ES\/festes\">festa <\/a>dues vegades: la primera per <strong>sant Pere<\/strong>, el 29 de juny, patr\u00f3 de Los Damunt, i, la segona, les <strong>festes patronals<\/strong> que se celebren la setmana que precedeix el 16 d\u2019agost, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mallorca.es\/ca\/-\/fiestas-de-sant-roc?classNameId=27801&amp;classPK=74042\">Sant Roc<\/a>, amb diferents activitats culturals i l\u00fadiques de les quals destacam el tradicional ball dels Cossiers que nom\u00e9s ballen aquest dia i per la Mare de D\u00e9u de Maig (darrer dissabte de maig). \u00a0El primer ball es fa al mat\u00ed davant l\u2019Ajuntament, abans de comen\u00e7ar un recorregut pels carrers del poble seguint els m\u00fasics al toc del flabiol i el tambor\u00ed. A l\u2019horabaixa, durant la celebraci\u00f3 de la missa en honor al patr\u00f3, ballen el ball de l\u2019Oferta dins de la esgl\u00e9sia, excepte el dimoni, que queda a fora.<\/p>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.illesbalears.travel\/ca\/mallorca\/el-ritu-convertit-en-dansa-el-ball-dels-cossiers\">ball dels Cossiers<\/a> va ser reconegut com a<strong> Festa d\u2019Inter\u00e8s Cultural<\/strong> l\u2019octubre del 2015 pel Ple del Consell de Mallorca i d\u2019acord amb la Llei de cultura popular i tradicional. S\u00f3n sis ballarins m\u00e9s el dimoni i la dama. Els balls que fan escenifiquen la <strong>batalla <\/strong>entre el <strong>b\u00e9<\/strong> i el <strong>mal <\/strong>fins que el dimoni \u00e9s ven\u00e7ut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0Una altra activitat cultural que \u00e9s reconeguda arreu de l\u2019illa s\u00f3n <strong>Els matins de l\u2019orgue<\/strong>, un cicle de concerts que es du a terme amb l\u2019orgue de Grenzing\/Bosch (restaurat l\u2019any 2006) de l\u2019esgl\u00e9sia de Sant Bartomeu al mat\u00ed de tots els <strong>dissabtes<\/strong> de l\u2019any, coincidint amb el mercat setmanal, s\u00f3n oberts a tothom i l\u2019<strong>entrada<\/strong> \u00e9s <strong>gratu\u00efta<\/strong>. Estan organitzats per l\u2019associaci\u00f3 Al Rum.<\/p>\n<p>Alar\u00f3 \u00e9s un poble amb una gran oferta de restauraci\u00f3 i hostaleria, amb petits <strong>hotels rurals<\/strong>, finques amb <strong>agroturismes<\/strong>, per allotjar-se o per llogar per a celebracions, habitatges d\u2019estades tur\u00edstiques, bars, cafeteries, bodegues i restaurants amb una gran varietat d\u2019oferta gastron\u00f2mica.
